Denise

President

This will be Denise’s 14th year
beekeeping with the first 11years in the cold, dry climate of Colorado. Retiring in NW GA after serving 30 years active duty in the US Army, she is enjoying the long beekeeping season and working her way through beekeeping in the South. Hive beetles are gross. Denise currently has 13colonies and has plans to expand in the 2026 season. Her favorite parts of beekeeping are: Honeybees attract the best people,
she now has more questions than
answers, and every time getting into a colony is like the 1st time she has ever seen a bee.

Doug got into beekeeping because his wife said it would be cool. And it is! As a trained Scientist and Teacher, every time he gets in colony is new and exciting. He can talk bees all day, every day, with anyone – just ask him! After 7 years of beekeeping and 6 colonies (4 production and 2 resource), he has figured out he knows nothing about bees, and beekeeping is like ranching buffalo: you can get them to do anything they want to do. Doug is looking forward to making
NUCs and splits to supply local
beekeepers with local bees.
